Charles W. “Chuck” Fricke is the son of Armin E. and Vivian Fricke, prior owners of the funeral home (1952-1980). He graduated from Lincoln Community High School and received the honors of salutatorian from Chicago Worsham College of Mortuary Science and the University of Illinois in Business Management. Chuck served as President of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association (1983-1984), Chairman of the Illinois Funeral Directors Credit Union, and founding member to its Pre-need Trust Department. Chuck was appointed by Governor Thompson to the Illinois and National Funeral Directors/Embalmers Examiners Board. He recently retired as Logan County Coroner in the fall of 2004. He has been a partner in Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home from 1981 to present. Chuck married Penny Southerlan, the mother of twin girls Michelle Maxheimer and Amanda Fricke. Chuck and Penny devote their spare time to their three grandsons and the Lincoln Christian Church.
