Steven L. Jenness

Funeral Director/Embalmer

Steven Jenness was raised on a farm outside of a small town called Primghar in northwest Iowa.  He has six brothers and four sisters that live in northwest Iowa.  His father owns 640 acres on which he farms soybeans and corn.  He also has a 4000 head hog confinement, and works for the REC (Rural Electric Company).

Steve graduated from South O’Brien High School in 1996.  He was active in football, track, and FCA.  While working for a carpenter, The United Methodist Church Camp in Okoboji, and for Turner Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, he attended night school at Iowa Lakes Community College in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  After attaining his Associates Degree, he went to Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois.  He graduated in March 2005 with an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences.

He made his decision on coming to this area because of the personal people in Logan County and the friendly staff at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home.  While here, Steven met his wife, Megan Edwards.

Megan Edwards is the daughter of Mike and Diane Edwards, Granddaughter of Joseph and Gladys Edwards, and Cecealia Steffen all of Lincoln.  Megan is a 1998 Graduate of Lincoln Community High School.  After High School she attended Hair Masters School of Cosmetology in Bloomington, IL and was employed at TowneHouse salon.  Steven and Megan have twin sons, Grant and Drake, that occupy most of their time.

Steven and his family have been attending Holy Family Catholic Church and was a member of Rotary.  In his spare time, he loves watching the Chicago Cubs, fishing, golfing, riding his bicycle and spending time with his family and friends.  He is excited to be working in such a nice community with friendly people.  He hopes to make a difference to the people in this area.
